When it comes to attempting a 6,000 in Peru, Nevado Tocllaraju will quickly catch your eye. This iconic snow-capped mountain is located at the head of the Ishinca valley in the middle of the Cordillera Blanca. The attempt at its summit requires technical climbing skills and previous experience at altitude. The ascent route is a real ice climbing experience, going through penitents, some crevasses, and finally master the steep snow slope.
